Responsibilities
-Safely operate directional drill rigs
-Responsible for overall site and crew safety and must exhibit and uphold Tilson’s safety values
-Foreman must have the ability to Locate/Operate, trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops.
-Locate & verify all utilities before construction using multiple methods.
-A demonstrated working knowledge of telecommunications construction: familiarity with Horizontal Directional Drills; ability to use cable placement equipment and tools and the ability to identify and troubleshoot problems
-Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground process
-Manage the build schedule/timeline
-Responsible for running a variety of equipment including but not limited to; all types of Directional Drills, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) and locators, various types of Trucks, Excavators, Forklifts, Dump trucks, etc.
-Serve as single point of contact with company crews, and inspectors
-Able to work in all kinds of outdoor working conditions
Qualifications
-High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
-Strong work ethic and desire to be a leader
-Effective communication skills and a positive attitude
-The ability to manage and direct construction crew
-Valid US Driver’s License with no major violations in last 3 years
-Able to work in a fast-paced environment
-The ability to work safely, with or without supervision
-Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to directional drills, locating systems, trencher, backhoe, excavators
Preferred Qualifications
-Minimum 3yrs operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch)
-Minimum 3 years of leading an underground crew
-Minimum 5 years OSP exerience
-OSHA 10/30
-Experience leading crew members
-Class A CDL is a plus
