Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge with Locating units for HDD installation of underground conduit for utility infrastructure construction.
Additional Training to implement new equipment technologies and safety protocols.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned, and stored in a safe manner.
Oversee that work area, vehicles and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, trash. Required
attendance to all safety meetings.
Proactively communicate with team members of any safety measures.
Lead daily tailgate meeting
Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.
Oversee and directly coordinate the work of a crew of 4-6 employees.
Precise and safe drill operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditions.
Must be familiar with Vac-tron, truck, equipment and operating maintenance.
Call in emergency utility locates and prepare damage reports according to company policy.
Wear required PPE per OSHA and company standards
Oversee jobsite safety set up is in place
Perform any lane closure per DOT requirements
Perform safe excavating procedures
Locate and assist pot holing the utilities in bore path to avoid blind drilling at all cost.
Determine bore path per the prints.
Verify depths and alignments of boring positions.
Conduct post jobs quality checks.
Other duties as assigned.
Understand prints and product placement per specs.
Follows specifications for the job and company policies
Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site
Read, understand and apply GAC Safety manual procedures
Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.
Requirements
One to five years of experience in horizontal directional drilling/locating.
Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver License is preferred buy NOT required
Valid DOT Medical Certification. (Only if you hold a current CDL)
Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements.
Pass i-9 employment verification form
Travel maybe be required within/outside the state
Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
