Drilling in unconsolidated beach sand. I am on a project with a D24x40 S11. Using 4 bag/750 Gal. 1/2 Lb/100 Rel Pak, 1/2 lb/100 gal No Sag. We had a mud analysis done, good cake, minimal water loss in test, good viscosity. I’m told the mud mix is appropriate. Using a tapered dirt bill 5 inch on 2 3/8″ Rod. Sonde Housing has a single jet port. ( which we’ve experienced clogging with) The steering adjustments are being made well within allowable bending radius. longer bores are 750 ft with an additional 70 ft pilot approach. In low gear we are applying 20,000 plus LB of thrust at times. Rod is being damaged. 14 Rods so far.
We removed the jet nosel from the drill head based on local recommendations. Am I asking too much from the 24×40 S11?
